You will be picked up in the morning at your hotel by a representative of the Coconut Tours. We will start our day with the journey from Kandy to Dambulla and stop on the way in a Herbal and Spice garden. The Golden Rock in Dambulla is a cave temple which dates back to the 1st Century BC. Its rock ceiling is one large sweep of colorful frescoes which depict Buddhist mythology and the tales of the Buddha's previous births. The caves house the largest collection of Buddha statues in one place. After the visit we will proceed to Sigiriya which is a 650 feet high rock fortress, a masterpiece of construction, artistry & irrigation. The world-renowned frescoes of the "Heavenly Maidens" of Sigiriya. It’s also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Overnight stay in Sigiriya.

On the second day we will start our journey in the early morning. Our destination is Polonnaruwa. We will spend most of the day touring the medieval capital. In the evening we will visit a Wood carving Factory. After the visit we will drive to Habarana and spend the night there.

After breakfast we will head towards Anuradhapura, which is one of the ancient capitals of Sri Lanka, famous for its well-preserved ruins of ancient Sri Lankan civilization from 4th Century BC. It’s also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We will spend the day in the ancient capital of the Island and explore the fascinating ruins. A visit of Sri Maha Bodhi, the oldest historically documented tree in the world is a must. After the sightseeing we will head for the hotel. Overnight stay in Anuradhapura.

On our last day we will visit Mihintale, which is called the "Cradle of Buddhism in Sri Lanka". Mihintale is the World’s first declared sanctuary from 247 B.C. and continues to be one up to this day. In the afternoon we will head back to Kandy. (Depending on your request drop-offs at other places are available.)
